Nov. 4, 1:00 pm JEWELRY FASHION FUN
Jewelry making is back at Central Brevard Library in Cocoa! In this advanced wire-wrapping class, design a wire-wrapped pendant that you can wear with anything. The centerpiece of your jewelry creation will be a beautiful Wyoming river rock of your choosing wrapped in gold fill or sterling wire. All materials are provided by experienced jewelry instructor Beverly McNally and are included in the $15 cost. Familiarity with the use of pliers and cutters is desirable for this class. Nov 4,18 & 25, 10:00am WATERCOLOR CLASS

Make the choice now to develop your artistic spirit! Watercolor artist Pearl Ollie shares her talent and techniques at a weekly watercolor class sponsored by Central Brevard Library in Cocoa. Students will create original works of art ranging from portraits to still-lives to landscapes and seascapes, with a focus on learning techniques. If you are interested in exploring your artistic side, this is the class for you! All levels are welcome, from beginning to advanced. (The library will be closed Nov. 11th for Veteran’s Day.) Are you ready to sharpen your creative writing skills in an engaging atmosphere that will free your creative spirit? Every Wednesday, writing mentor Marilyn Sewell will help you explore your creative self and improve your ability to write short stories, poems and songs. All levels of writers are welcome. “Write the Right Stuff” will meet from 9-11:30am every Wednesday beginning November 5th at the Central Brevard Library in Cocoa. The cost is $10 per class. Nov. 6,13 & 20, 2:00 pm GENTLE YOGA

Yoga has hit the U.S. mainstream! Supermodels and star athletes, corporate executives, housewives, and seniors are all discovering the many benefits of yoga practice. Join certified yoga teacher Emily Hain and experience the relaxation and well-being of a gentle yoga class. Each class includes breath awareness exercises and warm-ups for each joint and major muscle group, as well as traditional hatha yoga poses modified for accessibility for every body age and type. Class ends with a period of guided relaxation that will leave you feeling calm and refreshed. Cost is $5 per class. Bring a towel or mat and wear comfortable clothing. Did you know that Brevard County’s own Pelican Island Wildlife Refuge was our country’s first national wildlife refuge when it was designated by Teddy Roosevelt in 1903? Or that Pelican Island and the surrounding Indian River Lagoon is home to the one of the most abundant year-round Osprey populations in the U.S.? Learn this and more when Bob Montanaro shares an intimate look at the nesting and fishing habits of this magnificent bird, as well as encounters with other wildlife on Pelican Island, from River Otters and a family of Pileated Woodpeckers to fighting Red-Shouldered Hawks! Nov. 12, 1:00 pm BLIND INSIGHT

As a toddler, Jan Janicki was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis which caused her to be nearly blind in one eye. Over the years, as sight in her “good” eye deteriorated, Janicki learned to cope with fading eyesight. Then two years ago, following surgical complications, darkness overtook Janicki’s world and she began living as a blind person. Listen to her compelling story of coping with blindness, and the doubt and fear and triumphs that have marked her personal journey. Janicki will share her story at the Central Brevard Library in Cocoa. The 1pm program will be followed by an optional book signing of Janicki’s autobigraphy, When Fear and Faith Collide. Enjoy a free movie at Central Brevard Library when we show “Young At Heart,” a true story about a singing group distinguished by their talent, determination and ...advanced age! Now, after performing for audiences all over the world including royalty, they’re expanding their repertoire (whose punk and rock selections already belies their senior status) in preparation for a special upcoming event. Come and meet new friends in the "Talk to Me" English conversation group for non-native adult English speakers who wish to practice their English. Join us at Central Brevard Library in Cocoa for a taste of the holidays, as Chef Darrin R. Durham and Chef Roberta Clare prepare a No-Bake Pumpkin Cheese Cake that will delight your palate and your guests this holiday season. As Program Coordinator for Keiser University Center for Culinary Arts in Melbourne, Chef Durham is accustomed to sharing secrets for elegant yet simple treats that you can make at home. At this free program, he and Chef Clare will also demonstrate how to make your creations look stunning when he decorates a selection of desserts using professional techniques that you’ll also learn. The Mims-Scottsmoor Library is offering the following programs in November, please call 2634-5080 for information and to register for classes:

Dance Lady, Cathy Johnson, teaches a Line Dance class on Mondays and Thursdays at 10:00 a.m. Fee is $4 ($2 for seniors).

Basic Computer Classes are available. Please call for more information.
Play Nintendo Wii: every Monday and Wednesday, 2:00pm-4:00pm. Cost is 50 cents per person to play for 20 minutes. Games include: bowling, baseball, pool, cow races and more! Fun for all ages.

Nov. 1 9a.m. - noon Acrylic painting class taught by Pat Urbano. Cost is $10 with all materials provided.

Nov. 4 6:15p.m. - 7:15p.m. Jazzercise with Monica. A new class appropriate for adult beginners. Fee is $30 for 6 classes and is nonrefundable.
